Voices of a City

“What would a city say if it could speak?” asked Greensboro native O. Henry in one of his classic short stories. One answer can be found in “Voices of the City” at the Greensboro Historical Museum, a voice-driven experience that captures the rich and diverse history of this North Carolina city that’s been a transportation hub, textile giant, center for higher education, and agent for historic social change and much more. Housed in a turn-of-the-century National Register building in the heart of downtown, the museum features seven galleries that are both collections- and story-driven, revealing the many unique eras in the city’s history through the voices of the people who lived through them.
