Cleveland Avenue Time Machine

Rosa Parks Museum and Library and Children’s Annex
Montgomery, AL

Generally speaking, kids don’t like old stuff—like history. So when Troy State University asked EAI to develop an introductory experience aimed at helping kids understand the significance of Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights movement, we decided to use something we knew they would like—time travel—to get the job done. The result was the Cleveland Avenue Time Machine, a dazzling experience that takes visitors onto a replica of a 1950s Montgomery city bus, and takes them on a journey to the heart of civil rights history. Yet another result was a 2008 Themed Entertainment Association Award for Outstanding Achievement.
