National Museum of the United States Army

Fort Belvoir, Virginia
Every Soldier Has a Story

EAI was awarded the National Museum of the U.S. Army design project by novation in early 2012. Although the previous designer, Christopher Chadbourne and Associates, had completed the project through Construction Document phase, the project transfer included extensive design additions requested by the Center for Military History, which required that EAI undertake a year-long redesign process before proceeding with Design Development and subsequent project phases. Thousands of original artifacts, manuscripts, artworks, photographs, and other materials documenting the Army’s history will be on permanent display. Dozens of educational programs developed in conjunction with scholars, historians, and teachers will further bring Army history to life for visitors. A 55,000-sqare-foot facility, the museum is slated to be open to the public in 2019.
