Eisterhold Associates is a full-service museum planning and design firm. In 1982, EAI opened the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis TN. Conceived and designed from the ground up, this was the first permanent exhibition of the American Civil Rights Movement, and has been visited by every US President since opening.

This was the first manifestation of two of our founding commitments: civic education, and cultural identity. It illustrates our dedication to solid historical research, coupled with emotionally powerful storytelling.

A selection of examples include: The National Civil Rights Museum, The Rosa Parks Museum, The Rosa Parks Children's Wing, The Civil Rights Memorial Center, The Green McAdoo Cultural Center, and the Truman Presidential Museum.
